Microsoft has announced the general availability of Copilot, its AI-powered conversational assistant. Previously known as Bing Chat during its preview period, Copilot is now backed by official terms and no longer considered a preview product, opening it up for broad adoption.

Copilot stands out by offering access to state-of-the-art AI models like GPT-4, coupled with the ability to cite up-to-date information by browsing the web. It can help users with everyday tasks such as drafting documents, summarizing articles, generating images with DALL-E 3, learning new skills, and answering complex queries..

For businesses, Copilot comes with commercial data protection at no additional cost. This means user prompts and responses are kept private, data is not used to further train AI models, and businesses receive contractual commitments around data privacy. It aims to alleviate common concerns around responsible AI adoption.

"With general availability, organizations and users can feel even more confident adopting Copilot as part of their daily workflows."
