Cohere today announced an expanded collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring its AI models to Amazon Bedrock. This integration provides Bedrock customers with access to Cohere's industry-leading natural language processing capabilities.
Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed AWS service that makes pre-trained AI models easily accessible via an API. With Cohere's integration, Bedrock users can now leverage Cohere's Command and Embed models to power natural language tasks like summarization, search, and question answering.
Command is Cohere's flagship text generation model specialized for business use cases. The large-scale model can synthesize lengthy passages, answer natural language questions, and even engage in dialogue. Embed is a text understanding model covering over 100 languages, capable of semantic search, clustering, classification, and more.
"We are excited to enable AWS customers with the ability to leverage our technology now as a serverless API offering on Amazon Bedrock," said Saurabh Baji, SVP of Engineering at Cohere.
The collaboration provides a new channel through which companies can access Cohere's leading models. Previously, Cohere's generative AI was available to AWS users via SageMaker JumpStart. The Bedrock integration offers greater flexibility in how customers can implement Cohere's solutions.
"By working with Cohere to bring their Command and Embed models to Amazon Bedrock, customers have access to powerful new foundation models optimized for a wide range of practical business use cases," said Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Database, Analytics, and Machine Learning at AWS.
For Cohere, the move aligns with its strategy of making its technology available wherever customers store data, providing choice. It also makes Cohere's AI more accessible to a broader range of companies looking to implement AI.
The integration comes as demand rises for accessible enterprise AI solutions capable of natural language processing. With Cohere's leading models now available through Bedrock's easy-to-use API, a wider range of organizations can tap into sophisticated AI to create solutions for tasks like search, dialogue, and summarization.
